BBC Wildlife Magazine's April issue will feature a photo-story on the plight of the endangered reticulated giraffes of northern Kenya, illustrated with (mostly) my pictures and written by John Doherty of the Reticulated Giraffe Project.

National Geographic Channel is using 'African bull elephant approaching' as the main promotional image for the UK release of their new epic series 'Great Migrations' narrated by Stephen Fry, starting on Boxing Day. The series is available on DVD and Blu-ray from 7th February.

The free outdoor exhibition 'Wild Planet', will be displayed at The Moor Shopping Centre in Sheffield from 6th October 2010 until 27th March 2011. The exhibition, organised by the Natural History Museum in London, features "80 of the most spectacular images from the 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' competition" including 'Starling flock above West Pier'. Future venues include Bath (April 2011), Manchester (October 2011) and London (April 2012). More information can be found in the 02/02/10 posting below.

'Starling flock above West Pier' is going to be part of 'Wild Planet', "a free outdoor exhibition which will feature 80 of the most spectacular images from the 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' competition" and organised by the Natural History Museum in London. The exhibition will be touring city centres in the UK and around the world for 5 years. All the pictures are appearing in a paperback book published by the Natural History Museum and will be available as high quality framed/unframed prints. My picture is being featured in other merchandise (calendars, jigsaws, postcard books etc.) which will also be available from the Wild Planet Store at the exhibition and the Natural History Museum as well as the Wild Planet website. The exhibition starts on Brighton seafront (near Palace/Brighton Pier) from 12th March until 26th September when it moves on to another UK venue to be announced.

BBC Wildlife Magazine's current issue (January) features a photo-story on the plight of the endangered Grévy's zebras of northern Kenya, illustrated with my pictures and written by Belinda Low, Executive Director of the Grevy's Zebra Trust.

The Grevy's Zebra Trust has published a 2010 wall calendar featuring 14 images from the Gallery. The calendars can be ordered directly from me via james@jameswarwick.co.uk for £10/US$15/€10 with free postage. All the proceeds go directly back to the Trust and their ongoing work with local communities to help save this critically endangered species.

'Maasai giraffes in storm light' is featured in today's edition of UK newspaper The Guardian. Their caption reads 'A decline of up to 95% in the number of giraffes in the Masai Mara is being blamed on human settlement and the accompanying crop production and livestock breeding'.

Last year, I donated pictures to BirdLife International's 'Think Pink' campaign to stop Tata Chemicals developing a soda ash plant on the edge of Lake Natron in Tanzania, the breeding ground for over 75% of the lesser flamingos' world population. Please support the campaign at this critical time. On a positive note, although a complete withdrawal of the project has yet to be secured, the conservationists seem to be winning!
